Vince Gill is a first-time grandpa! His daughter, Jenny, gave birth to her first child, Wyatt Gill Van Valkenburg, on Monday, reports People. Gill shared the news while performing with The Time Jumpers in Nashville on Monday night.
Jenny Gill is Gill’s only child with his first wife, Janis Oliver. She married music business executive Josh Van Valkenburg in May 2010 at Gill’s home. Jenny surprised her father last Christmas with the news that he would become a grandfather.
“I always get socks and underwear,” he said. “And it’s become a tradition for me to make everyone breakfast on Christmas morning. So when my daughter Jenny came in the kitchen and said she had one more gift for me, I thought, ‘Oh great, more underwear.’ But instead, she handed me a card with an ultrasound picture in it of the baby that’s on the way.”
